Time To Talk

Okay.
Yes, It's pathetic but I have my nose in this when I can just like half the other women out there right now. Well, maybe most of them are done but my life won't allow that so I'm only halfway through.
And TONS of stuff JUST HAPPENED when I stopped last night so it's time for me to vent a little.
***Here is how this will work: I am going to start my thoughts in the comments section because it will contain spoilers, so avert your innocent eyes unless you are prepared to read.....***

Let's start at the beginning...
(I am currently at chapter 23)
-The wedding. Glad it all went well. I could not bear Bella and her moaning about it any more. And the honeymoon? Veerrrry nice.
-So about that... did not see the pregnancy thing coming...
-Skipping on... I enjoyed the section from Jacob's view. Great, dry sarcasm- quite refreshing from 'Bella who bugs'. And I enjoy how Edward can read his thoughts and they converse quickly that way. Wish I could do that with my kids.
-And how sad was Jacob?!?! I felt so bad for the pain he was going through.... but seriously, HE IMPRINTED ON THE BABY!?!? Did NOT see that coming... and the thought only occurred to me when he was talking with Leah before she was born, but wow- it's like a Dynasty 80's tryst gone wrong... next thing you know, Leah will be imprinting on Sam's baby. What will all these monsters look like generations down the road? real ones with, like, a third eye and two sets of teeth?
-And gag me when she nick-named the baby 'EJ' before knowing what the sex was. Sheesh. And Renesmé? Can you pass the cheese-wiz?
-Admittedly jealous of her new vampire self. It would be cool to shun human weakness and be beautiful and strong, leaping over houses and flirt with your super hot soul mate... sigh

What else am I missing?
And there is a LOT of book left. This vacation from the reality of my life will be hard to return from.

I really liked the book until the Voltui showed up and the end and everyone talked me to death. YAWN! How did you like it in the end? Jealous of Huntington! Looks like fun!

Yeah it only took me 2 days to read and now I am wishing I would have read it slower because I am missing it. I agree with sara's comment, the book could have been 200 pages shorter, less about the fight and more about the romance. Someone told me before I read it that they thought Bella would get pregnant and that Jacob would imprint on the baby so I wasn't that surprised, although still creepy. I need another good book to get into, whenever Brandon's watching sports or such I miss my book. Any suggestions?

I did it! I finished it today. Overall, liked the book well enough.
-My one romantic comment is this: It has grown on me how Edward calls Bella 'Love'. I used to think that was a little drippy.... but it melts me now.....Love, let me move that tree for you with my superhuman strength...
-I feel it all worked out a little too perfectly with Alice popping up at the end having conveniently found the exact same thing as Renesmé...
-And no fighting! A little bummed. I was kind of ready to have them womp on the Volturi. Sure would have been fun to see Jane get beheaded or something... all Bella got to do was give her a satisfactory smile when she was trying to kill her.
-And how cool was her power/shield thing!? Thought that was awesome.
-I think Stephenie did a good job making their allies varied and interesting. And the two Romanians were hysterical in their cynicism toward the Volturi.
-I really like how Carlisle is always very diplomatic and calm. I appreciate that even though they were all standing for good, there was no pride in that. They did not want confrontation or to hurt anyone. It is difficult to refrain from defensive emotion and action when you are challenged and I like how they handled it.
I think that's it. Can't get too much deeper than that over a book about Vampires and Werewolves, etc.

Now.... we wait for the movie. :-)
