Sticker Shame

For years I wondered why these were ever made AND even used...where
did people buy them? Who supplied America with such a trend? I still
don't understand it but I just discovered them at my local JoAnne's.
Available! Accessible! It's a sad sight, my friends. I mean, why stop
at the pets? Why not include how many toothbrushes you have? I have actually seen the car that had, like, eight cats in a row. Really? Really??

My favorite was a van with the family line-up but the dad had a big white x over him...

yeah... i have always been confused by that. they should write under it, "i have 4 kids and a dog... follow me home and rob me":)

AHHHHHH! I agree with you 100% on this one. And, Alta, I have also seen the Dad crossed out before! Where did this sticker trend start and how do we stop it?

Thank you, thank you THANK YOU for telling us where these came from!! I have wondered that for YEARS! One more thing I can cross off my list of things I think about at 4 am when I can't sleep! I am glad to know I'm not the only one wondering these things.

I too hate those stickers, and to tell you the truth I hate the whole vinyl stickers things on anything. I have decided that it is the Relief Society craft that replaced the glass grapes and many other crafts that just shouldn't be.
Some people have had a hard time figuring out who I am when I comment, I'm Amy Stoddard Hunter. Just so you don't think I'm some crazy that you don't know reading your blog.

For Christmas we were thinking about giving my parents 21 stickers for themselves and their kids (yes, JUST their kids), dog, cat, and a few guinea pigs with X's through them to put on their van--I'm so glad to know where to find them now! ;)

if you can have 8 cats and 3 fish in a bowl, why not also include what i'm making for dinner...like a taco or a diet coke can. seriously. the best is when there's just a mom, a dad, and all the animals...no kids...just a farm. that's what i want...a farm and a taco.
