Once there was a girl named Jenny. She was like all the other girls, except for one thing. She always wore a green ribbon around her neck. There was a boy named Alfred in her class. Alfred liked Jenny and Jenny liked Alfred. One day he asked her, "Why do you wear that ribbon all the time?" "I cannot tell you," said Jenny. But Alfred kept asking, "Why do you wear it?" And Jenny would say, "It is not important." Jenny and Alfred grew up and fell in love. One day they got married. After their wedding, Alfred said, "Now that we are married, you must tell me about the green ribbon." "You still must wait," said Jenny. "I will tell you when the right time comes." Years passed. Alfred and Jenny grew old. One day Jenny became very sick. The doctor told her she was dying. Jenny called Alfred to her side. "Alfred," she said, "now I can tell you about the green ribbon. Untie it, and you will see why I could not tell you before." Slowly and carefully, Alfred untied the ribbon, AND JENNY'S HEAD FELL OFF!

Happy Halloween! I found this guys blog recently and it's been so fun to read this month. He is artistic as all get out and makes some creepy stuff (as he loves Halloween). He shared this ghost story from his youth and I thought it was fitting for this week. Best part was his tag, which said "Scared the crap out of me when I was in first grade". Oh man, gave me some good laughs today....Mom, have you heard of this before??

HAHAHAHA! I remember hearing that story when I was in 2nd grade. They brought in this random dummy with a pumpkin for a head and a green ribbon around the neck. When they pulled the ribbon and the pumpkin fell off, I laughed until I cried - we all thought it was SO funny. Love your spooky pic, by the way. How was your party!?!?
No! I don't remember it; but I thought it was hysterical---like the horse you train to not eat, and when you finally get it trained, it dies! I loved it and the picture, too; I think I need to wear a green ribbon with my halloween costume!!! XO
i remember that story. there are a bunch like that in the book scary stories you tell in the dark, and more scary stories you tell in the dark. we'd bust those out at halloween and around girls camp. so great. PS how was the party? sorry i missed it I was up in utah
